James Malphurs grew up in Virginia, Florida, Georgia and New York. James graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point as a Distinguished Cadet in 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science and a commission as an active duty Armor Officer. Lieutenant Malphurs served as tank platoon leader and company executive officer in C Co., 1st Battalion, 32nd Armor Regiment (Elvis Presley’s own) 2nd Infantry Division. After promotion, Captain Malphurs served as Adjutant of 1st Squadron, 14th Cavalry (reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition). James was honorably discharged at Fort Lewis, Washington in 2001.
James’ military awards and decorations include the Army Parachutist Badge (Airborne); Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award); National Defense Service Medal; and Army Service Ribbon.
James earned his J.D. at the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, and is admitted to practice law in Florida and Federal Courts.
James currently serves at Blalock LLC, helping veterans and their families recover for harm in accordance with the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.
When not practicing law, James practices yoga and meditation, art and music.
